This document will show complex examples of manually inserted speech variables as discussed in 'Section 8: Changing the Speech Variables', in the 'User's Guide'.
Go ahead, have SmoothTalker 3.0 speak the following section:
<<M This is a male voice, <<MV2S3 This will be spoken soft and slow, while <<V9S8 this will be faster and louder. <<S5V5T Treble can be used, <<B as well as bass. You can build in <<D4 a delay, and talk in <<P0 a fixed monotone phrase without any inflections.>> You can also insert a phonetic text string, like this: <<πD4DHIHs8sAWndz6lAYk7IHNGlIHSH 5bAHt7SHER6dAH8zntlUHk3lAYk5IHNG3lIHSH>>
You will notice that << 'double left brackets' tell SmoothTalker where to start the variable changes. And, >> 'double right brackets' tell SmoothTalker where to stop the variable changes; these ending brackets may be optional, depending how the variables are used.
Mixed upper and lower case words or letters in the same sentence will do this: CAT spells cat. He used to work for TWA.
